ME Council of Churches
Maine Council of Churches (MCC)
Established in 1938, the ecumenical non-profit, Maine Council of Churches, is made up of seven mainline Protestant churches, serving a total of 435 congregations in Maine, along with several associate member congregations, and one cooperating “body denomination.” PNNE is a member of this vibrant non-profit. The mission of MCC is to inspire and “to speak with a prophetic voice of faith, connecting people within, through, and beyond the church to create a more just, compassionate, and peaceful world.”
The Outreach and Engagement Sub-Committee of the PNNE Leadership Commission is pleased to provide support on PNNE’s behalf for their good and faithful work that consists of:
-
Offering resources and programs
-
Doing faith-based advocacy for social, economic, and Environmental justice, with a focus on public policy at the state level
-
Speaking in the public square with a prophetic voice of faith for justice, equity, inclusion, compassion, and peace.
